BEFORE YOU BOOK

Is Rift legit?

Rift is a flight search and booking platform, previously called Soar. Here’s how to find the official Rift, verify an airline reservation, understand Atlas fares, and get help when something is unclear.

What is Rift, and why do I see the name Soar?

Soar is now Rift. You may still see the previous name in an app identifier or older correspondence. Use the store links on this page to check the current app listing and developer information. Our About page explains the product, and our download page links to both apps.

Rift helps you compare and book flights. We are not an airline: the operating airline runs the flight, controls schedule changes, and sets its baggage and fare rules. Booking through Rift does not remove those rules.

How do I check that my flight is actually booked?

Submitting a booking request, seeing a pending card transaction, and having an issued ticket are different stages. Check your trip status and booking confirmation rather than treating a payment notification alone as proof that you can travel.

  1. Review the confirmation. Check passenger names, dates, airports, flights, and the airline booking reference. An internal Rift reference and an airline reference can be different. Where an airline issues e-ticket numbers, review those too.
  2. Open the airline’s official website. Use its Manage booking or My trips section with the airline reference and passenger surname. Some airlines use their own reservation code or a ticket number, especially on trips involving multiple airlines.
  3. Check every reservation. Separate tickets can have separate airline references. Verify each one and check that the itinerary and passengers match what you booked.
  4. Resolve anything missing before travel. A reservation reference by itself does not establish that ticketing is complete. If a booking cannot be found or its status is unclear, contact Rift support so the reservation and ticketing status can be checked.

Why can an Atlas fare be cheaper?

An Atlas hidden-city fare uses a ticket for a longer route where your intended arrival airport is a connection. You leave there instead of taking the later flight to the ticketed final destination. The airline still treats the full route as your ticketed itinerary.

Standard fare

Plan to fly every segment on your ticket. Baggage, changes, cancellations, and refunds depend on the selected airline and fare.

Atlas hidden-city fare

Plan to leave at the connection shown by Rift. This carries additional baggage, ticket-sequence, rerouting, and airline-contract risks.

  • Do not check luggage: it normally travels to the ticketed final destination. An overhead carry-on can also be gate-checked.
  • Missing a segment can cause the airline to cancel later flights on the same ticket, including a return flight.
  • An airline can reroute you away from your intended connection, and its rules may restrict hidden-city travel or affect loyalty benefits. You need the travel documents required for the full ticketed itinerary.

Review how Rift Atlas works and the full Atlas terms and restrictions before choosing one. A lower price does not make an Atlas ticket interchangeable with a standard fare.

For any fare, compare the total price, airports, dates, cabin, baggage allowance, and optional extras. Prices and availability can change before a booking is confirmed.

My card shows a payment, but the booking is unclear. What next?

Check your trip status and confirmation messages first. A pending bank authorization alone does not tell you whether a ticket was issued or a payment was completed. Do not submit another purchase while the first booking’s outcome is unknown.

Contact [email protected] with your booking reference, route, travel dates, and the approximate time of the attempt. Ask us to verify both booking and payment status before you try again. Do not email full card details, passwords, or one-time verification codes.

Can I change or cancel a flight? Will I get a refund?

It depends on the ticket, the airline’s rules, and the booking channel. A flight booked directly with the airline through Rift’s booking agent must be cancelled with that airline using the airline reference. Rift cannot cancel or refund those direct-airline bookings; the airline determines cancellation fees and any refund.

For other bookings, use the options shown in your trip or contact Rift support. Check the available cancellation outcome before confirming. Do not assume a ticket is refundable because it was recently purchased. Any optional protection applies only when it is offered, purchased, and its conditions are met.

Fare Recovery is separate from a cancellation refund. An eligible fare drop may produce an airline credit with redemption rules, rather than cash. The Terms & Conditions explain recovered credits, applicable fees, refunds, and booking responsibilities.

Where can I read the policies or get help?

Read our Privacy policy for how Rift collects and shares account, traveler, booking, and payment-related information. Our Terms & Conditions cover the service, and Atlas terms describe the additional hidden-city restrictions.

Email [email protected] for help with a booking, payment, check-in, or account. Include your booking reference when you have one. If departure is close and you need to confirm an airline reservation or resolve an airport issue, contact the operating airline as well.

Know the details before you choose.

Compare fares, read the restrictions, and keep your confirmation handy.
